Owner Report: January/February

The Holiday Rental Market:
Warm weather helped to create what was a very solid January, with all categories recording higher occupancy than January last year. The mid-section of January continues to provide the biggest challenge to fill and will again be our focus in our advertising this year.

News for Owners:
Reminder for Landlord's Insurance: We require all owners to provide us with a current copy of their Landlord Insurance. We ask that you please provide us with a copy ASAP. Thank you.

Marketing / Promotional News:
Wish to Maximise Your Bookings? Our Marketing Coordinator, Tammerly may be in touch with you in the coming weeks about advertising with STAYZ and HomeAway. If your property is not advertised on these websites, then you are missing out on many opportunities. We can confidently say that properties advertised on these portals have a much better opportunity to book in advance and last-minute.

Want to give your property exposure to over 4,000 subscribers?
We currently require one property to participate in our Hot Deals April e-Newsletter.
If you are interested please contact Tammerly to arrange.

The Sales Market:
Confidence in the sales market continues to grow with investors definitely returning and properties that have been languishing for months are slowly disappearing. We are even seeing strength in the holiday property investment market with buyers seeing value when they can invest in a lifestyle decision whilst still receiving 4%, 5% and sometimes 6% returns. There is plenty of empirical evidence to support what we are seeing at the coal front.

BIS Shrapnel has just released its residential property prospects 2012 to 2015. "Sydney is forecast to record a 17% increase in median house prices over the next three years", stating that a large contributing factor to this growth is the return of investors. It goes on to say that there is a growing confidence in property as a result of "lack of confidence in the stock market due to volatility supported by uncertainty and the headwinds from Europe, China's slowing economy, falling interest rates, properties showing good and strengthening rent returns as well as offering the bonus of some capital growth."

See you next month!
- The team at Accom Holidays
